You Need These 6 Homemade Beauty Masks in Your Life

There is a relatively new craze that is sweeping the globe – facial masks. Notice that your feed is filled with quirky styles such as golden or animal face masks. To be honest, I am a fan of this trend. I have been in love with facial masks for the last 6 years and counting.

You may have heard about face masks, but have you heard about lips and hair masks? Give it a shot! Whip out a natural mixture by combining the ingredients found at your kitchen. This is an affordable alternative to visiting the spa.

For Flawless Face

Add facial masks to your beauty regimen to combat various skin care concerns. The right mixture can help you to hydrate the skin, pull out impurities, and eliminate excess oils. Forget spending hundreds of bucks at the local spa by whipping your homemade facial masks. Choose from these two recipes:

a. As Fresh As Milk

To savor the wonders of a fresh face, you will need one ingredient – milk. Combine 1/4 cup of powdered milk with water to form a thick paste. Slather your face with the mixture and let it dry fully. Then, rinse everything with warm water. You will surely feel rejuvenated afterwards.

b. Beery Bright

Raid your kitchen to gather these ingredients: egg, beer (any brand), and fresh lime juice (or calamansi juice). Simply fuse 1 egg white, 1/2 cup of beer, and 2 teaspoons of fresh juice together. Coat your face and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then, rinse everything with warm water.

This works because beer is a brightening cleanser that contains B vitamins, yeast, and saccharides. These factors help dissolve dead cells and boost the skin’s luminosity. Mixing the egg white causes the mask to improve the elasticity of the skin. Lastly, the juice’s vitamin C helps to fade dark spots and clear pores.

For Kissable Lips

It is best to include lip mask to your routine amidst the cool weather or the winter breeze. This may sound like an expensive embellishment for your makeup kit, but you can save money by making your own. Just imagine how gorgeous your matte lips will look after the treatment!

a. Just Add Honey

Your main ingredient is a teaspoon of raw honey (preferably organic). Apply this to your lips and observe as your lips move to a “pouting position”. Leave the mask for at least 15 minutes. Please resist licking it off because your saliva may dry it out. Wipe it clean afterwards.

This works because honey has antibacterial properties and a capability of moisturizing your lips.

b. Hydrating Honey + Coconut

Aside from a tablespoon of honey, a teaspoon of coconut oil will complete this mask. Coconut oil will restore the lipid layer to the skin and will ignite its anti-inflammatory properties. Simply massage this mixture around your lips. Let it settle for 5 minutes. Then, rinse it off.

For Healthy Hair

Most people consider their locks as their crowning glory that frames their face. As an asset, you must take good care of your hair. All-natural and homemade hair masks are the solutions for nourishing your scalp and roots. Give your hair the love it deserves by choosing from these two recipes:

a. Abundant Avocado

Avocado is an abundant source of amino acids, proteins, and vitamins. Its benefits include soothing the scalp, adding moisture, repairing any damage, restoring shine, and promoting strong hair growth. Avocado is truly impressive.

Reap all these by mixing an avocado, 2 eggs, a tablespoon of coconut oil, and a tablespoon of honey into a bowl. Apply this to your hair. Let it sit for 20 minutes. Then, rinse it!

b. Anti-Breakage Banana

If you want to protect your hair’s natural elasticity to prevent breakage and split ends, make this banana hair mask. Simply prepare these ingredients and follow the directions:

  • 1-2 overripe bananas

  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Take your time to blend the bananas until there are absolutely no chunks. Put the honey, coconut, and olive oil to the mixture. Blend it once more. Cover your hair with the mask and let it settle for 5 minutes. Rinse the “smoothie” out with warm water. You may choose to comb your hair and rinse it again.

The power of beauty is yours to keep. Simply gather the ingredients in your kitchen and take care of your face, lips, and hair at the comfort of your own home.
