You Must Try These 7 Hottest Restaurants in Australia

You read about the new restaurants in the Philippines, but have you considered exploring your own turf? As an Overseas Filipino Worker who has been in Australia for so long, it is time to hit the new food spots in town. This is why I have collated a comprehensive list of the hottest restaurants out there.

The only thing that you will regret is not checking out this list!

1. Restaurant Hubert

I can vividly recall the day when an iPhone smartphone graced my hands. I was immediately drawn by the myriad of applications and the incredibly responsive screen. I never knew that I will become so dependent to it until I was introduced to one. A similar feeling will roll over your belly as your experience the wonders of the Restaurant Hubert.

Hubert’s interior is as interesting as its menu. The sophisticated basement design plays homage to the olden louche bars and supper clubs. This ambiance is fused with the exceptional French dishes by Dan Pepperell. Adding a cherry on top is the hospitable service of the crew.

Try their Egg Yolk in a Bonito Jelly or the Duck Liver Parfait with Maple Jelly.

Location: 15 Bligh Street, CBD, Sydney, NSW

2. Bar Brosé

In a massive city crowded with recently opened restaurants, Bar Brosé stand out. Analiese Gregory along with her partners stock up on the finest Australian new-wave natural wine producers and serve it next to delicious sandwiches.

3. Harpoon Harry

The brainchild of “Belle’s Hot Chicken” built another masterpiece in the form of Harpoon Harry. Chef Morgan McGlone draws on his previous experiences of working at an American fine dining restaurant called Husk. This is why Harpoon Harry offers pub food with a Southern twist. If that does not sound fun and quirky to you, what does?

I am looking forward to trying the Grilled Sticky Lamb Ribs (AUD 16) and the Wagyu Burger (AUD 18). Aside from these, they have Devilled Eggs with Smoked Trout and Smoked Chicken Wings with White Sauce. You may dine at the level to have a more refined experience.

4. Lawyers, Guns, & Money

If you are looking for a good place that brings Asian breakfast meals together, try visiting a hot restaurant in Melbourne. It is none other than the “Lawyers, Guns & Money”. Owner Chef Victor Liong serves daytime-only dishes at reasonable prices.

Let me start with the 12-dollar Singapore Style Breakfast Toast. Since I lived in Singapore for many years, I am familiar with the unique taste of Kaya toast. It achieves just that by mixing white toast with Kaya jam as well as soft cooked eggs.

The place also has Vegetarian Congee (AUD 16) and Taiwanese ‘Husband and Wife’ Offal Plate (AUD 14). You will realize that this restaurant is worth searching for.

Location: Corner of Church Lane & St James Lane, Melbourne, VIC 3000, Australia

5. Heartbreaker

What do most chick flicks and romantic comedies have in common? Well, a bar where the heroes can pour their hearts out. Heartbreaker is the perfect bar for that cliché setting. It is complete with neon fuchsia signage and padded bar front.

6. Anchovy

The latest gem found at the Bridge Road is the Anchovy. Anchovy fuses modern Australian cuisine with the chef’s Vietnamese heritage. Simply read its slogan and you will get the gist.

“Modern Asian. Modern Australian. A little bit in between.”

The restaurant’s food is classic and neat much like its decor and website. I would love to have a plate of Roasted Cauliflower with Curry Vinaigrette (AUD 15) right now! Finishing this hearty meal will be the brilliant cocktail Bramble.

7. Pappagallo Pizzeria

Residents of Perth have been clamoring over the authenticity and mouth-watering goodness of the Italian dishes by Pappagallo Pizzeria. This new edition at Oxford Street serves only the traditionally thin, homemade pizzas. One of its popular flavors is the Pappagallo Pizza.

Do not get me started with the restaurant’s delectable pastas and strawberry-paired panna cotta! It is best to try it out by yourself.
