They say winners never quit and quitters never win. When we were still young, we are taught that we should never quit in every obstacle that we encounter. Older people say that these challenges will help us to reach our goals and keep us on track.
But as we grow older, we learn that not everything is worth fighting for. And not every obstacle are solved in a blink of an eye. We come to a certain point where we are so hopeless and our only option is to quit.
Quitting might have a negative impact on us, but sometimes quitting is just the best thing that we can do, here’s why:
You’ll Be More Mature
By the time you reach your 20s, perhaps you already know that life is not a fairytale. You’re more aware that life is simply a freaking rollercoaster, one minute you’re laughing, the next minute you’re already crying.
Well, that’s life… and you have to accept that. Once you decided to quit on something, it also means that you understand why it needs to end, and that’s the time when you can call yourself a mature person.
Be mature enough to know that not everything will go according to your plan. Quit arguing with others and be mature to understand your differences, quit expecting and start appreciating.
You Become Stronger And Braver
Quitting is also the key to acceptance. A failed relationship, a forgotten friendship, a stressful job, when you decided to quit on these things, it only means that you chose to be brave and accept the fact that it needs to end.
Sometimes, the first person to quit in a relationship is the bravest and the first to forgive is the strongest. Quitting doesn’t always mean that you are weak, it also means that you are brave enough to face the fact that it’s over.
Once you quit in a relationship, friendship, or a job, you become stronger than ever. Why? Because you have the courage to face your fears and accept the truth.
It Keeps You Away From Pain
Just like what I said in the beginning, we were taught to never give up. But as a person, we know and feel when it’s time to quit. Emotional pain can cause too much damage in someone’s life, it can cause depression and leave lifetime scars. If that time comes, you have a choice to end it.
You know, sometimes, doing what’s good for yourself is not being selfish, it only means that you still respect yourself enough to walk away.
You’ll Learn That He Has A Better Plan
Everything is destined to happen according to His will. When God removed something in your life, it means that He’s giving you something better.
Are you a believer of the saying, If it’s meant to be, it will be? Well, I do. I’m a firm believer that every small detail in our lives is destined to happen. Every pain, joy, failures, successes, all of it are the things that will make us who we’re meant to be.
“When God shows you it’s time to let someone go and you refuse to, He will allow that person to hurt you to the point that you have no choice but to let go.”
After quitting and letting go of something, you will realize that He has better plans for you, it may take too long but it will all make sense in His perfect timing.
Quitting may sound bad to a lot of people, but sometimes quitting is the best self-care for us. It can give us the opportunity to improve ourselves and be better, and it can open new doors for us to explore life.
