An interesting study by the Euromonitor International opened our awareness about Australia’s organic beverages market. Findings showed that organic soft drinks increased by 2% in 2015 while organic hot drinks increased by 6%.

Trumping its competitors, Republica Coffee Pty. recorded a strong growth in value share. It demonstrated a potent position regarding flavors as it focused on gourmet offerings and organic hot drinks. All the efforts of the Republica Coffee were recognized as they were awarded with the Ethics Business Awards for Small Business last year.

Aside from organic hot drinks, a category than won the hearts of many was the organic juices. There are various reasons why people (including myself) were caught by the juicing hype. As you may have noticed in the recent years, people have a higher demand for healthier options.

Kelly Boyer, the founder of Paleta Los Angeles, highlighted our human need for purpose and healthy options. She once said that: “Consumers are going to focus more than ever on functional ingredients. The shift in this trend is that we have evolved to wanting more purposeful foods and beverages targeted specifically to positively alter our moods and enhance our cognition.”

Having less and keeping things simple attracts health conscious individuals too. Savvy shoppers are not just looking for organic beverages but they are also looking for consuming less sugar and calories. The future of these organic beverages seems to sway more on experimental juices and assorted coffee pods. A coffee pod is a single serving of organic coffee packed in its own filter. This is comparable to a tea bag.

You came across organic juices and organic fruits before, but have you heard about the organic alcohol? Organic alcoholic beverages is made of ingredients that are grown from the organic farms. These products are processed in a dedicated distillery (i.e., free of fertilizers or pesticides). Fertilizers and pesticides found in the counterparts can increase the risks of cancer and other illnesses.

Switching to organic has another benefit to your health. Some evidence suggested that an organic cocktail can lead to a lighter “sting” the morning after consumption. If you are sold by these benefits then, you can grab a bottle or two at the Organic Wholefoods in Melbourne. But as always, please drink responsibly!

Previous evidences highlighted the strong growth of the organic beverages market. Its prevalence has spanned to our favorite hot drinks and even to our go-to cocktails. Switching to organic may cost you a little more than its chemically produced counterparts. But, your body deserves a healthier option.
