When talking about kids, I always remember a quote from a movie that I watched a couple of years back. It says, “The point is, kids, they give us a chance to be better than we are.”
And ever since that day, I’ve been thinking that, yes it may seem possible and also true because of the movies and stories that I’ve read. But if you’re not a believer of this quote, well this article might help you realize that having kids will make you a better person and a creative oned too.
For first-time parents who are having trouble taking care of their kids, here are life-saving hacks that will make your lives easier and better.
The Power of Water
Toddlers have a lot of energy inside them. Sometimes they do ridiculous stuff like drawing on walls, play with your makeup, and roll themselves with toilet papers. If you can relate to this, then we got a solution to these kinds of situations.
You can give a paintbrush to your toddler and a bucket of water and let them “paint” the fences and on your backyard’s pavement. This will keep your toddler occupied while you do some household chores.
Is your kid having trouble wearing their shoes? You can use stickers in your kids’ shoes so they can learn which is left and right so they won’t be confused anymore.
What is the most requested gift of kids to their parents? Giant slides! We want to give it to them but giant slides will cost a lot of money and space. But don’t worry, you can still be the best parents by making your DIY slide. All you need is a cardboard box and make a slide on the stairs. Just don’t forget to put some pillows below for safety purposes.
Kids are clumsy, that’s for sure. And to prevent them from always slipping, you can use a glue gun under their shoes to prevent any accidents.
The Hunting Game
Having trouble looking for your stuff? Why not ask your kids to do it. Oh yeah, they don’t want to follow your orders because they’re “busy”, but how about if you guys play a game?
Whenever you can’t find your phone, charger, glasses, keys, or wallet a hunting game for your kids will help you. Just give them a list or draw the item that you need to find. Of course, don’t forget to reward them if they successfully found it.
From Crib to Table
Children are growing up too fast. That why we need to somehow think of a solution to still use their old stuff. If your kid is too big for their cribs, you can upcycle their old crib and turn it into a work station or a study table.
The Baby Mop Suit
The person who invented this is truly a gift from God. This baby mop suit will somehow help you clean the floor when your baby is at the crawling stage.
Upcycle an old Lotion bottle
Kids always have a hard time to wash their hands because they’re too small to reach the faucet. If that’s the case, you can turn an old lotion bottle into a faucet extender so your kids will no longer ask for your help.
DIY Kid-sized Hammock
Hammock or “Duyan” (as we call it in the Philippines) is ‘thing’ to kids. I don’t know why but when I was a kid, we love to be in a hammock and chill for hours.
And since we don’t have a hammock at home, we often use blankets and tables to do make our very own DIY hammock. Best invention ever!
The Solution for Sore Gums
When your baby is in their teething stage, you can soothe their sore gums by freezing a pacifier in an ice tray with their favorite drink. This will ease the pain while your baby enjoys their snack.
Yes, kids can give you a lot of trouble and stress. They have endless weird questions in their minds and they do funny stuff. You may get tired of them sometimes but admit it, you became a better person because of them. You became more mature, understanding, responsible, and of course very patient.
