Those who enjoyed last year’s Philippine Food Festival will be thrilled to know that Shangri-la Hotel Sydney will be continuing the tradition for the sixth year in a row.
From 20 to 30 September 2018, the hotel’s Café Mix will be serving a varied selection of classic Filipino favorites like Sisig, Lechon, Chicken Inasal, and, of course, Adobo. As with last year, guest chefs will be flown in especially from the Philippines to ensure the authenticity of the spread, only this time, the culinary contingent is coming from Makati Shangri-la Hotel instead of its outpost at the Fort.
And so that the entire feast will end on a sweet note, the upcoming buffet will feature a live Halo-Halo station, allowing diners to build their own version of the beloved Filipino dessert with finely-shaved ice, sweetened chickpeas, sugar palm, purple yam paste, tapioca pearls, jackfruit slices, and scoops of ice cream. This, of course, is in addition to Executive Pastry Chef Anna Polyviou’s colorful display of show-stopping, rockstar treats.
Over the years, Café Mix has become known as a hub for international food festivals that celebrate the diversity of Sydney’s population. “Continuously attracting the interest of the Filipino community and food aficionados, our guest chefs from Makati Shangri-la Hotel, Manila will deliver tantalising dishes that capture the uniqueness of Filipino culture,” Shangri-la Hotel Sydney’s Executive Chef Hemant Dadlani excitedly shared when the date for this year’s food festival was announced.
Both Philippine Airlines, the country’s flag carrier, and the Philippine Department of Tourism will be partnering with Shangri-la Hotel Sydney for this year’s Philippine Food Festival. Throughout its duration, diners can avail of the spread at AU$65 pax from Sunday to Thursday, for both the lunch buffet from noon to 2:30 pm and the dinner buffet.
Café Mix is located at Shangri-la Hotel Sydney, 176 Cumberland Street, The Rocks, Sydney, NSW 2000, Australia. Interested parties can call (02) 9250 6000 or email email@example.com for inquiries or reservations.
