Have you been stressed out with your work? Are you left counting your every day by the second, wishing for this torture to end? This may be an exaggeration for most (Or is it?). But this lifestyle can ultimately impact your health.

In the famous Framingham Heart Study, they have tracked thousands of adults for over 20 years. They have found out that men who skipped vacations are 30% more likely to have a heart attack than those who took a one-week vacation.

And it comes worse with women as the percentage risk increases to 50%. Similar studies have backed this up. It shows that the lifestyle of stress will definitely put you at risk.

Speaking of Stress

We all know that stress can lead to various chronic ailments. With travel, it is proven to help you out of stress. The ability to step back and rejuvenate ourselves.

Vacations can even go beyond and help you maintain mental health and wellbeing. Science says, this mental break recharges our brains to be more productive, as was the case for numerous people after a holiday.

After the vacation, don’t be surprised if you’re twice as productive.

Exposure to a new culture can be valuable for everyone. It opens new ideas and perspective. You’ll never know what will be born after the wanderlust.

At best, a single spark of inspiration from abroad can make you start a new movement. Howard Schultz got his inspiration for how we see Starbucks today in Milan. It may be your next big thing.

At worst, you will have a wider horizon when you look into things. Usual problems might not be a problem anymore, especially after seeing some parts of a developing country.

Whatever it is, you can now figuratively see the world through new lenses.

So are you ready for that adventure of a lifetime? Go out and plan for that relaxing week. It doesn’t have to be expensive. Search for cheaper places you can go around with your family.

And don’t give me that “Your work is your life” BS. If your work is really your life, are you willing to die for it? Because based on the studies, for sure, you really will.
