New Zealand Will Sponsor Your Holiday if You Attend a Job Interview in Wellington

Yep, you read that right.

The world’s best place to live in will give you an all-expenses paid trip (though you’ll still need to pay for your own food, drink, and entertainment) so long as you agree to a job interview in Wellington.

A campaign called LookSee Wellington was recently launched to entice 100 people from all over the world to come in for interviews with the tech and innovation capital’s various companies. This campaign is a partnership between the Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency (WREDA) and Workhere New Zealand, a company that specializes in global recruitment marketing.

The sponsored visit involves four whole days of pre-arranged job interviews, meet-ups, and of course, some exploratory jaunts throughout the area, with all flights and accommodation all paid for.

If you’re interested to apply, here’s how it goes:

  • Register for LookSee Wellington online here before Monday, 20 March 2017.

  • Wellington’s leading tech companies will review all applicant profiles and will “nominate” the ones they like best. The more “nominations” you get, the more likely you are to win.

  • If you get selected, someone from the campaign will be in touch and the trip will take place on 8-11 May 2017. It’s also highly possible that the tech companies will make you an offer if you stand out from the other applicants during the job interviews and/or meet-ups.

So, go on, try it out. At worst, you expend only two, three minutes filling up the application and then forgetting about it if you don’t get chosen.

If you do get picked, however, well, there’s no telling how far you’ll go afterwards, eh? A free trip to New Zealand alone is already quite something, after all.
