Everything You Need to Know About the Australia Awards Scholarship

One Australian award-giving body shines above the rest as it seeks to develop world-class leaders from the citizens of the developing countries including the Philippines. This rationale enables the Australian Government to build enduring ties between these said countries. This extraordinary award-giving body is no other than the Australia Awards scholarship!

Highly capable Filipinos who manifest a genuine passion for lifelong learning and development work are welcome to join. Besides, this scholarship program has no age limits! You must only meet the eligibility criteria (found here).

After determining that you are qualified for the program, you may choose the course that you wish to partake in. The Australia Awards Scholarship is primarily given to Master’s and PhD courses. Furthermore, it does not support the completion of studies by distance learning (i.e., outside of Australia).

The twelve priority areas that you can choose from are: Basic Education, Local Economic Development, Infrastructure, Foreign Relations, Governance, Organisation Development or Human Resource Management and Development, Peace and Development, Mining and Mining-Related Fields, and Trade and Economics.

If you are an aspiring PhD recipient, the course that you must propose must match your Master’s degree. Rules are more flexible to the Master’s recipients. For Master’s applicant, you can apply for a divergent course as long as you have relevant career goals and work experience. Assemble all your requirements after figuring out the appropriate course for you.
