Australia is known for being one of the most interesting countries. From their history, strange town names, and incredible hiking spots, Australia has always something extraordinary to offer. And what’s more interesting is their accent and slang terms that only a true Aussie can know.

 

Aussie English can be quite hard to understand on your own, so if you’re planning to visit or move to Australia, here are the few of the many slang terms and phrases that you should know:

Aussies are known to abbreviate almost everything. So Macca’s is the short term for McDonald’s because, well, McDonald’s is too long to say. Right?

Accadacca is how Aussies refer to Australian band “ACDC”. ACDC is a rock band formed in Sydney in 1973.

Now this one is too easy. We all know what’s the famous Facey of all time. Yup, it means, “Facebook”.
